Lovely Letters is an intimate and spontaneous documentary portrait that gives us back the smile and the memories of the first love. In a school of a small rural village, there’s a constant come and go of letters that carry love messages. They travel hand to hand until they get to their destiny under the danger of being intercepted for the teacher’s careful watch.
The school ending is close and everything seems to be more intense, being that it’s a small town. The runs through the hallway, the whispers at the ear, the games at the breaks that end in kisses, the crossed looks in the school acts and the love grows with our characters. Three couples of children experience for the first time the adventures and misadventures of love. The characters, between signed robes and messy chignons, talk to us about friendship, jealous, boyfriends, girlfriends and those that are not clear which they are. They explain the ways they have at their age of feel and understand, or not, that thing called love.
